Father’s Day Gift Ideas

by rachelle mullings

With Father’s Day just around the corner (Sunday, June 15, 2014), this week’s blog focuses on gift ideas for all the father’s out there! But first, let me tell you a short story about my father!

I remember when I was in elementary school, I would sit around in a circle with all of my friends and we would talk about what our Dad’s did for a living and the fun adventures they would take us on (sometimes without our mom’s knowing). You could see the excitement grow on each kids face as it became their turn to tell all about their father. “My dad is – a police officer, firefighter, engineer, business man, etc.” We all seemed to have a “hero” in our life.

As I grew older, it wasn’t so much what my dad did for a living that made me appreciate him, it was more along the lines of how he shaped my life.  From being a little child to being 26 years old, my dad has always motivated me to work hard for everything and push me to reach for the stars! Classic lines from my father include “don’t stay in your mess,” and “ there is so much more life has to offer.”

With all of that being said, Father’s Day is right around the corner and I am almost positive that I am not the only one rushing around trying to figure out what to get my Dad. This is a special day to honor the men in our lives. It only happens once a year and yet I always find myself running around the mall or frantically searching through different websites trying to figure out what to get someone who has EVERYTHING! And more importantly, something that isn’t your typical, run-of-the-mill tie, pair of socks, cologne, or coffee cup. We have all been there and done that, so why not find something unique to give that special man in your life?

In the 1960s dads would play old movies projected on a white sheet hung outside the house, a drive-in meets home theater experience. Everyone marveled at the grainy, dark images they saw. The Acer H5380BD Projector is an amazing gift this year, with a perfect picture and powerful speakers, and it works with all forms of media.
